Keep reading to learn how to make this delicious recipe!

Seven Ingredient Greek Chicken Burgers

The first step in this simple recipe is to make the Greek chicken burger patty mixture. These burgers are made with lean ground chicken which packs in a lot of protein and also works really well with all of the mediterranean inspired flavors in this dish. Ground chicken also cooks fast, which means that it won’t take you long to get dinner on the table but you’ll still have an exciting dish full of flavor.

These burgers use a combination of fresh dill, dried oregano, red onion onion, and garlic powder to give them a great flavor. To make sure that the burger patties don’t fall apart, the recipe also calls for an egg to hold everything together. Because ground chicken can be a pretty lean meat, the recipe also calls for a little olive oil to ensure the burgers stay tender and juicy and don’t dry out.

The Best Tips for Perfect Ground Chicken Burgers

Ground chicken can be a little sticky to work with which may make it a little tougher that ground beef to form your burger patties. To make the process easier, wet your hands with cold water before working with the ground chicken mixture. Wetting your hands with water will help to make it easier for you to form your ground chicken mixture into patties. One pound of ground chicken will easily give you four burger patties. If necessary though, you can double the recipe and make more burgers to have for an easy leftover option.

How to Make Homemade Tzatziki Sauce

While the Greek chicken burger patties are flavorful all on their own, topping them with homemade tzatziki sauce really increase the flavor and takes them to a whole new level. If you’ve never made tzatziki sauce at home it really is quite easy. Once you make it one time, you’ll want to make it again and again.

Traditional tzatziki is a combination of yogurt, cucumber, garlic, dill, lemon juice, and salt. Making it at home is really quite simple, especially if you use a food processor to chop the cucumber, fresh dill, and garlic. For the best results, I like to add my garlic, cucumber, and dill to a high powered food processor and pulse until finely chopped.

You can use the picture above for reference on how finely you want to chop the cucumber, garlic, and herb mixture. Tzatziki typically has a bit of chunky texture, so there’s no need to chop the herbs and veggies until silky smooth. You just want to make sure that there are no huge chunks of cucumber or garlic in your sauce for the best results. Using a food processor helps to make sure that all of the ingredients are well chopped and does a lot of the work for you.

The Secret to Creamy Tzatziki Sauce

The secret to perfectly creamy tzatziki sauce every single time is a good quality yogurt. While you can use a Greek yogurt for an extra thick tzatziki dip, I find that this sauce works best with a plain whole milk yogurt like the one I used for this recipe made by Green Valley Creamery. Because you’ll be using the tzatziki as a sauce for you chicken burgers, you don’t want it to be too thick. I really like the way plain whole-milk yogurt works to give you just the right saucy consistency in this recipe.
