January Whole30: The Basics
I hope you all had a wonderful holiday! It's been so nice to spend time with family and friends this Christmas!
Now that Christmas is over, the new year is right around the corner, and it's almost time for our January Whole30! I completed a Whole30 last January, and it really changed my relationship with food and healthy eating. By the middle of the 30 days I noticed an increase in energy, my clothes fit better, and my skin was clearer. Now, I'm so excited to do another round with all of you to kick off 2017! We'll start our Whole30 on January 3rd!
What is the Whole30?
By now, you may have done a quick google search and learned all the details of the Whole30 Program, but if you're not familiar here are the basics. You give up all grains, sugar, dairy, legumes, and alcohol and don't step on the scale at all for 30 days. Instead, you eat plenty of real whole foods, including meat, seafood, eggs, vegetables, fruit, and healthy fats from oils, nuts, and seeds!
Certain foods (like grains, sugar, and dairy) can be a source of inflammation in the body and lead to excess weight gain, acne, indigestion, allergies and a host of other health problems. By eliminating these food groups for 30 days, and then slowly reintroducing them, you learn if any of them are negatively impacting your health. The goal of the Whole30 is to learn which foods work best for your body. It's not a weight loss program (even though you may lose weight) and you may not have to give up these foods for the rest of your life. The Whole30 is all about empowering you with information on how YOUR body works best. The results will be different for everyone, but I can guarantee that at the end of 30 days you'll be so glad you completed the program.

I firmly believe that completing a challenge like the Whole30 is much easier if you're surrounded by a community of supportive people. There are aspects of the Whole30 that can be challenging (like giving up sugar!) but knowing you're on the same journey with other people can make all the difference. This is why I created a Facebook group just for you! I'll be sharing recipes, tips, and other Whole30 social media accounts for you to get inspired over the 30 days. This is also a safe space for you to ask questions and voice any concerns or challenges you're facing along the way. We're all in this together, so let's support one another!
I am so excited to get this Whole30 party started with you all! This year some of my family members and even my boyfriend (which is kind of a huge deal) are doing it with me and I can't wait for them to experience the benefits! It's not too late for you to get your family and friends on board as well. Just forward them this email and tell them to join us by clicking HERE!
I'm thrilled that you're embarking on this journey with me and I can't wait to get started. 2017 here we come!
