Y'all. It was 60 degrees over the weekend and it was heaven. After so many weeks of bitter cold, it felt like Spring.

Every year I get so excited for the winter and then after the Christmas holiday I  I hit my "breaking point" with all of the cold. When January rolls around it doesn't really feel like the winter weather is serving a purpose anymore. Is that just me? I do like the occasional snow day, but even that gets old after a while.

I know we have a few more months of cold before spring officially settles in, but the excitement is already here. I'm most excited for all of the fresh produce that comes with the spring and summer months! When the weather changes I almost instantly start craving big fresh salads, fresh fruit, and smoothies. There's nothing better than a refreshing fruit smoothie when it's warm outside. 

Even though I crave them more in the spring and summer, smoothies are still a year-round occurrence over here. They make the perfect healthier treat when you're craving something sweet and they're the perfect pre or post-workout snack.

Tropical Protein Smoothie | All the Healthy Things

This tropical protein smoothie is a protein packed blend of all your favorite tropical fruits, like pineapple and mango. It also uses coconut water as the liquid base, which is full of electrolytes to replenish your body after a tough workout. 

I recommend using a natural or vanilla flavored protein powder for this smoothie for the best taste. I've linked to my favorite one below if you need a recommendation!

  • 1/4c frozen pineapple chunks
  • 1/4c frozen mango chunks
  • 1/4c frozen strawberries
  • 1 scoop protein powder (this is my favorite)
  • 1/2c coconut water
  • 1/2c pineapple juice 


  1. Place all of the ingredients in a high-powered blender and blend until smooth. Add more coconut water or pineapple juice as needed. Serve immediately.
